Muscat – His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik presided over the official inauguration of Royal Academy of Management in the Ministries’ District in Al Khuwayr on Monday.

Upon his arrival at the Royal Academy of Management’s headquarters, His Majesty the Sultan was received by Sayyid Khalid bin Hilal al Busaidi, Minister of Diwan of Royal Court and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the academy, Dr Ali bin Qassim Jawad al Lawati, President of the academy, and members of its Board of Trustees.

As a gesture marking the opening of the academy, His Majesty the Sultan placed a symbolic key in the gate of a scale model of the academy.

After that, His Majesty toured the Royal Academy of Management’s facilities. The five-storey building has multiple spaces that are designed to enhance collaboration, efficiency and inspiration among the various teams at the academy. The building was modeled to offer an interactive, functional and smart user experience for both employees and the academy’s wider community.

Focusing on creating an enabling environment for both working and learning, natural light and green spaces offer a healthy work environment, while smart systems and meeting capsules create an ideal space to facilitate virtual meetings. The building also has joint workspaces and community areas as against traditional fixed workstations.

During the tour, His Majesty the Sultan met members of the International Advisory Board of the academy. At the conclusion of his visit, His Majesty received a commemorative gift from the Royal Academy of Management, which was presented by Lawati.

The design of the gift was inspired by the inaugural event and embodies the academy’s official opening gate. It conveys openness to the world while maintaining Oman’s originality. The gate, in its essence, reflects strength and influence, and features a key that indicates a crossing to the future with determination.

The official opening ceremony was attended by members of the Royal Family, ministers, chairmen of the State Council and Majlis A’Shura, undersecretaries and members of the Board of Trustees and the academy’s International Advisory Board.

The academy has enjoyed His Majesty the Sultan’s Royal Patronage since its establishment via a Royal Decree on January 11, 2022. The academy grooms national leaders at various administrative levels for the public and private sectors.
