Ironman to be held in Muscat on Feb 4

Muscat – The Ministry of Heritage and Tourism (MHT) announced on Tuesday that Ironman 70.3 Muscat, a triathlon championship, will be held on February 4.

The fifth edition of the championship will take place at Qurm beach, held by the ministry in cooperation with TriMe Middle East.

MHT informed that participants representing several countries will take part in the race, considered one of the world’s toughest athletic challenges.

“The Ironman 70.3 Muscat race aims at raising awareness on the triathlon sport across Oman and to serve the organising company’s (TriMe Middle East) vision of adding Oman on the global map of international sporting events,” said Asma Salim al Hajariya, Assistant Director General of Tourism Promotion in the ministry. “The championship is also an ideal step for Oman to showcase itself as a major destination to host international sporting events and adventure tourism activities,” she added.
