Muscat – H H Sayyid Theyazin bin Haitham bin Tarik al Said, Minister of Culture, Sports and Youth, presided over the inauguration of the first edition of ‘Oman Conference on Environmental Sustainability’, on Monday.
The three day conference includes several activities that focus on air pollution and climate change.
The conference will include an environmental exhibition which will present the latest technologies, and solutions in various environmental fields, besides organising specialised workshops focusing on green hydrogen energy and methane management.
Dr Abdullah bin Ali al Omari, chairman of Environment Authority (EA) and chairman of the organizing committee of the conference, said, “Over 400 participants from 25 countries are participating in the conference, in addition to about 100 participants from Ecothon programme, which is organised in partnership with the Manafa’a initiative.”
“The conference comes from a deep belief in the importance of scientific research and its effective role in finding solutions to address various issues and challenges,” said Omari.
