Muscat – The Ministry of Labour’s (MoL) ‘One Million Working Hours’ initiative is making good progress with around 1,249 jobs created in 24 government institutions until November.

The initiative provides one million hours of part-time work in the government and private sectors in various governorates.

The initiative targets all jobseekers who will be working for a period ranging from three months to two years. Furthermore, the beneficiaries of the initiative are entitled to apply for jobs in the private and government sectors.

“The importance of this kind of initiative is to facilitate opportunities for all jobseekers to gain practical experience in government institutions. These opportunities were announced in the past through job announcements that allowed candidates to apply for jobs via SMS or the ministry’s official website,” said Nabil Abdul Rahman al Farsi, Director of Employment and Replacement Department in MoL.
