Muscat – The Investment and Startup Summit will kick off on December 12 at Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre under the auspices of H H Sayyid Bilarab bin Haitham bin Tarik al Said, according to the Authority for Small and Medium Enterprises Development (ASMED).

A statement issued by the authority said, ‘The two-day summit is part of the Rising Omani Startups Programme, which aims to support Omani startups in the sultanate. More than 2,000 participants and 50 startup owners will take part in the event.’

The summit will discuss matters on investing in startups. Additionally, several agreements will be signed and exhibitions and workshops for startups and decision makers held.

The number of micro, small and medium enterprises registered with ASMED this year till July increased 46.8 per cent, according to data issued by the National Centre for Statistics and Information.

At the end of July 2022, 81,460 SMEs were registered in the sultanate.
