Revenue of star hotels increases over 100%

Muscat – Revenues of 3- to 5-star hotels increased 100.1 per cent to RO120,167,000 until the end of September this year, compared to the same period in 2021.

According to the latest figures of National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI), the number of hotel guests in star hotels recorded an increase of 31.6 per cent in the first nine months of 2022, compared to the same period in 2021, while occupancy rate was 42.7 per cent, compared to 35 per cent during same period in 2021.

According to NCSI, GCC citizens were among the top nationalities that visited the sultanate until the end of September 2022, followed by European guests.

The data shows that the number of visitors from the Gulf countries during this period witnessed a significant growth of 780.8 per cent – from 13,512 at the end of September 2021 – to 119,010 until the end of September 2022, followed by European guests whose number grew by 578.2 per cent to 203,103.

The data also revealed that the number of Omani guests decreased by 16.2 per cent from 631,183 at the end of September 2021, to 528,745 till September 2022.

The number of American guests was 40,149, registering an increase of 200.6 per cent compared to the same period in 2021, while the number of guests from Africa was 5,831, a growth of 98.4 per cent.

The number of Asian guests also increased – by 44.2 per cent – from 101,351 until the end of September 2021, to 146,191 during the same period of 2022.
