Muscat – The Ministry of Interior announced on Thursday the final list of candidates for the Municipal Council membership for the third term. A total of 727 candidates, including 28 women, will contest.

The final list is available via the election website (www.elections.om). According to Article 41 of the Municipal Council Elections Regulations, each candidate can carry out an electoral campaign to introduce himself/herself, from the date of announcing the final lists of candidates, until the day prior to the day of voting.

‘Each candidate may conduct electoral campaigns to identify himself/herself through the means of electoral propaganda in billboards, publications, local newspapers, and meeting voters, provided that requests for electoral propaganda are submitted through the election website,’ Ministry of Interior said in a statement.
