Muscat – The Ministry of Interior has announced that applications to register for Municipal Council elections will be received until October 27.

The ministry has called upon citizens to submit their applications through the election website (elections.om) after filling up an online form.

The Ministry of Interior had confirmed in a previous statement that, in the context of preparations for the elections of municipal council members for the third term, which were postponed due to the pandemic, whoever had previously applied for candidacy for membership of a municipal council in 2020 must submit a fresh application, as applications submitted in 2020 will not be considered.

The ministry also called on citizens who have not registered in the electoral register to apply for registration through the elections website and to insure that their ID cards are equipped with the electronic certification system.
