25 Sep 2022 By

Muscat – Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), will pay a two-day state visit to the Sultanate of Oman starting Tuesday.

Announcing the visit, the Diwan of Royal Court stated:

‘In affirmation of the ties of fraternity, kinship, good neighbourliness and historical relations binding the Sultanate of Oman and the UAE, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed al Nahyan, President of the UAE, will pay a two-day state visit to Oman, leading a high-profile delegation, starting Tuesday.’

Dr Ahmed bin Hilal al Busaidi, Ambassador of Oman to the UAE, stated that the visit is Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed’s first to Oman following his assumption presidency.

“Oman-UAE relations are distinguished and historical, linked by brotherly ties and strategic relations established by the late Sultan Qaboos bin Said and Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan al Nahyan, who built deep and strong relations between the two brotherly countries,” he said in an interview with ONA.

Busaidi further said that continuous communication between the leadership of the two countries and the brotherly peoples enhance these relations, which are witnessing further development under the wise leadership of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik and Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed.

According to Busaidi, the visit will develop and strengthen bilateral ties further. “The two countries seek economic integration by enhancing economic and investment opportunities, facilitating procedures for investors, and raising the level of joint work to expand partnership between business sectors and increase the volume of trade exchange.”

Busaidi noted that the UAE is the leading trading partner of Oman in the GCC, and this reinforces an optimistic view of the future of the Oman-UAE economic partnership.
