Muscat – The Ministry of Social Development (MoSD) signed four agreements with private sector institutions to support persons with disabilities on Tuesday.
The first agreement will provide maintenance services in the building of Al Aman Rehabilitation Centre, and the second will implement training programmes for people with disabilities at the centre.
The third and fourth agreements will provide training programmes for persons with disabilities who are enrolled in the Professional Evaluation and Rehabilitation Centre of the ministry.
Hamoud bin Mirdad al Shabibi, Director General of Persons with Disabilities Affairs, MoSD, said, “The agreements aim to provide vocational training for economic empowerment to persons with disabilities and to improve the accessibility of facilities for the severely disabled.”
The agreements will provide job opportunities for persons with disabilities and on-the-job training opportunities for this category, leading to the development of their capabilities and employment in the labour market, Shabibi added.
