Muscat: Muscat Super Kings registered an easy victory at the Oman Cricket’s 10-over Tennex Ball tournament, which started at the Municipality Grounds last Friday.

A total of 19 matches were played on the first week, with the next set of fixtures scheduled for May 20.

Batting first after winning the toss, Super Kings made a mammoth 121 for 6. Vishal Parshomttambhai Desai led the scoring with 36 runs off just 15 deliveries. The Kings were superb with the ball too, restricting WCC to 70 runs to wrap up a dominant 51-run victory.

The clash between Deccan Challengers and Muscat Panthers was also a one-sided affair. Challengers made a modest 59 for 4 which Panthers chased down in in just four overs with all 10 wickets intact, thanks to an explosive 47-run knock from Tenarangam Yeduru.

Meanwhile the match between, Max XI and the Bombay Blues ended in a tie. Put in to bat first, Max XI made 95 after a late 32 run blitz from Sultan Ali. Bombay Blues’ run chase went down to the wire and they scored two runs off the game’s final ball to tie the scores.

Aksaar Aslam Sardar of Tuluvers XI, with 59 runs, recorded the highest individual total of the first week. Mohammad Mazharul Islam, Mohammed Ahmad Rashid Ahmad and Suhas Gowda were the others to reach half-centuries.

With the ball, Haja Hameed of Proline Knight Riders was the star of the week. His two overs produced four wickets at the cost of just seven runs. Sai Kiran, Ketan Kumar Patel, Muhamad Rafeek Jayafar Kunju, Ramjaan Boota, Afzal Ali Mir and Lilo Varghese claimed three scalps apiece.
