Muscat – Assigned by His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, Sayyid Bilarab bin Haitham bin Tarik al Said will inaugurate a section on the Late Sultan Qaboos bin Said at the National Museum of Oman’s Renaissance Age Hall on Thursday.
Salim Mohammed al Mahrouqi, Minister of Heritage and Tourism, and chairman of the museum’s Board of Trustees, has informed that the Sultan Qaboos Corner is a significant feature reflecting the turning point in Oman’s modern history.
The edifice will portray the legacy of the late Sultan and present his achievements over the first five decades of the Renaissance, which laid solid foundations for a comprehensive development process, said Mahrouqi, noting that the country is now advancing with firm steps towards a brighter future under the wise leadership of His Majesty the Sultan.
In a statement to ONA, Mahrouqi added that after this induction, the ministry will organise makeshift exhibitions showcasing collections of the late Sultan in the governorates, with a view to associating the Renaissance with different traits of the late Sultan.
The exhibits will include gifts made to the Sultan by leaders of Arab and non-Arab states.
With the inauguration of the Sultan Qaboos Corner, the Renaissance Age Hall will celebrate Oman’s modern history and the epochs of progress and prosperity that the country has witnessed since 1970.
