Muscat – In its efforts to develop the Governorate of Muscat and create recreational facilities for citizens and residents, Muscat Municipality will start Phase 1 of a project called Golden Jubilee Walk in Seeb.
Spread over 84,400sqm, the project will be developed in the middle of the wilayat close to already vibrant areas of Mawaleh, Al Hail and Al Khoudh. The project includes recreational elements, areas for picnics and physical activities, a bicycle path, and various other services.
Providing a natural environment for outdoor activities, the project will have 38,250sqm of green spaces.
A statement issued by Muscat Municipality said, ‘The municipality will start work on the first phase of the Golden Jubilee Walk project in Seeb mid-2022 and complete it in April 2023.
‘The project aims to develop modern outlets that serve the community, enhance physical health, and activate social and economic aspects of the community.’
The civic body added that the project will help spread the culture of sports, stimulate commercial activities and provide a place to hold exhibitions and recreational events.
Golden Jubilee Walk includes a 1,972m pedestrian walkway, a 1,972m long and 3m wide bicycle path, two sites equipped with equipment for physical sports, two children’s play areas, and 140 car park spaces.
