Madrid, Spain – The Real Madrid Foundation has signed a collaboration agreement with Ruznama Enterprises and Trading to run its Football Program, an educational assistance project, in Oman. The programme is designed to complete the academic curriculum for students of school age and has been carried out since 2017 alongside sporting and educational organisations throughout the world, putting a special focus on sports training.
The Football Program is aimed at school children who already have some football experience. The goal is to drive youth potential in Oman both in terms of sporting development and instilling the associated values in the community.
The students, from 8 to 15 years of age, will be led by a Spanish head coach selected by Ruznama Enterprises and Trading, who will head to Muscat in March, alongside a further ten qualified local coaches. The specialists will run four weekly sessions of 45 minutes for those younger than 11, and of 90 minutes for the older children.
Participants
The sessions will benefit over 150 boys and girls, who will make use of the facilities at the Al Seeb Stadium in Muscat. The programme will be presented in Muscat in March and training will begin in May, following Ramadan. The goal is to have up to 1,000 students by the end of the 2022/23 season.
Collaboration
Khamis Obaid al Ajmi, CEO of Ruznama Enterprises and Trading, expressed his gratitude for the collaboration, “It’s a big milestone for us. Real Madrid is one of the greatest football clubs and we’re proud to be associated with its Foundation. I’m sure this collaboration will bring great value to our youth in Oman.”
Football is part of the culture in Oman and is closely linked to values including good health, hard work and self-improvement. Values which, alongside those promoted by the Real Madrid Foundation, will contribute to creating a top-level football school which helps young people in their personal development.
