7 Feb 2022 By ANIRBAN RAY

Muscat – Muscat-based Indian writer Rajan V Kokkuri’s fourth novel – titled Born to Dream – will be available on Amazon starting February 12. The book will also be available in Kindle and Google Books. Hardcopies are currently being shipped by order to readers.

The novel narrates the story of BPL Group and the growth of the company to become a world-class Indian consumer electronics brand detailed in 393 pages.

Speaking to Muscat Daily, Kokkuri said, “Born to Dream is about the founder of BPL, TPG Nambiar and two other outstanding contributors to the business, KPR Nambiar and MA Uppal.”

For the book, Kokkuri spoke with 122 former and current BPL employees to collect anecdotes and articles.

The book opens with an emotional account of TPG Nambiar – titled Closer to Heart. Born to Dream tells the story of the three pillars of the company who set out on a rail journey from Bombay to Palakkad in 1963 to start BPL’s first plant, and how the business grew to become one of the leading electronic corporations in India.

Kokkuri’s three earlier books are titled I remain forever yours, which is also available as an audio book, My Precious Dreams and The Invisible Love.

A fan of Ayn Rand, Kokkuri said, “The habit of reading is dying. This is happening due to long working hours, stress, need for immediate entertainment and excessive usage of gadgets.”
