200-bed Aster Royal Hospital to open in Ghubra in April

8 Jan 2022 By

Muscat – A new flagship hospital of Aster Oman is set to open in the sultanate in April 2022.

Aster Royal Hospital will have 150 new doctors and staff members of various nationalities. The 200-bed facility, with modern technologies and infrastructure, will offer a 24-hour emergency service.

Unveiling the hospital’s logo at a press meet held in Levatio Hotel Muscat on Thursday, Dr Ashik Sainu Mohiyadeen, medical director of Aster Oman, said, “The new building, which is next to Aster al Raffah Hospital in Ghubra, will be one-of-a-kind in terms of services and facilities. Our new doctors are specialists and equipped for any major operation or complication. We have been in Oman for the last 14 years and it has been an incredible journey.”

He noted that he has come across many patients from Oman who travel to India for treatment. “But now with Aster Royal, no Omani will need to travel abroad for treatment. Every facility or medicine for which patients from Oman went to India will now be available in their own country. This will ensure savings in several other segments, besides the cost of treatment,” Dr Mohiyadeen said.

Farhaan Yasin, regional director of Aster Oman and Aster Kerala, said, “As part of Aster Royal Hospital, we are also going to start something new called Aster at Home. This is the first ever time such a concept will be available in the country. This service will be for people who prefer to have medical services and experts at the home instead of them coming to us.”

To make appointments easy, patients can book appointments with their preferred doctor on their chosen date and time, thus avoiding queues and documentation procedures. A mobile application is currently in beta phase for the same.
