Abu Timam Grant Thornton, a leading business advisory firm in Oman, announced the appointment of Tammam al Mughairi as the new chief executive officer, who succeeds Nasser al Mugheiry with immediate effect.
Nasser al Mugheiry, who has been with Grant Thornton Oman for over 25 years, will now take on the role of executive chairman of the company, according to a press release.
In his new role, Tammam al Mughairi will be responsible for managing and leading Grant Thornton’s Oman operations. Grant Thornton is respected globally as one of the major global accounting organisationsrecognised by capital markets, regulators and international standards-setting bodies.
Excited about the new appointment, Tammam al Mughairi said, “It is an honour for me to carry forward the brilliant legacy of my predecessor, Nasser al Mugheiry. Tammam al Mughairi comes with a strong experience and has been a partner at Abu Timam Grant Thornton, while being instrumental in driving the organisation’s growth as the deputy chief executive officer for the last two years. He was also the head of advisory and helped grow the firm’s advisory practice, which now accounts for 43 per cent of Grant Thornton Oman’s business.
With over a decade in the field of professional services, Tammam al Mughairi has a rich experience working with leading public and private sector organisations, having led and delivered engagements in external audit, business risk and transaction advisory.
