P J Mani, convener, TKS, said, “Playback singers of Telugu film Industry – Gangadhara Sastry, Maharajapuram Ramu and Srinidhi will entertain the audience.
Bhaviri Ravi of Naa Vaarthalu Naa Istham and Evadi Gola Vaadide fame and Rekha, a popular anchor and presenter will do mimicry and comedy skits.
Mani also mentioned that the event is aimed at providing the Telugu speaking people in Oman an opportunity to listen to the songs of these popular playback singers, mimicry and skits.
The entry is through invitation, which can be obtained from the organisers.
TKS is the only affiliated and recognised body with the Indian Social Club, Muscat, to represent the Telugu Community.
This body has been in operation for more than 25 years in Oman conducting activities like cultural programmes, blood donation camps, activities in the labour camps and teaching Telugu to the members and children of the TKS .
TKS in the past has organised cultural programmes by inviting personalities like Sri Akkineni Nageswara Rao, Sri Mangalampalli Bala Muralikrishna, Padma P Suseela and S P Balasubramanyam on various occasions.
TKS has the distinction of inviting Gazal Srinivas for the first time in Oman in 2006. TKS had in the past also invited and felicitated Telugu actors Udaya Kiran and Kavitha.
Last year, TKS had conducted a musical fusion programme in which six artists with different instruments performed on May while Vijaya Babu showed his talent singing with the whistle.
Sastry started his music career with Telugu film Industry in 1994 and got the best new playback singer award for his songs in the movie Nannagaru directed by Dasari Narayana Rao.
