Sayyid Fahd, Chinese Vice Chairperson review ties

On behalf of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said, Sayyid Fahd bin Mahmoud al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for the Council of Ministers on Wednesday received Chen Xiaoguang, Vice Chairperson of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC).

Chen conveyed greetings of the leadership and the Government of China along with wishes of success to His Majesty the Sultan and the Omani government and people further progress and growth.

After welcoming the guest and his accompanying delegation, Sayyid Fahd praised the growing historic relations between the two countries as well as the remarkable progress witnessed.

Oman and China are marking the 40th  anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations.

Sayyid Fahd reviewed the Shura march and contribution of the Council of Oman along with the government in supporting the national work.

The meeting reviewed means of enhancing cooperation in economic fields and sharing expertise to achieve interest of both the countries.

They also discussed several international issues of common concern.

Chen expressed his country's appreciation to Oman's leadership and its constructive role in serving the regional and international issues.

He also appreciated the talks held with the chairman of Majlis A'Shura and senior officials in the sultanate.

The meeting was attended by Khalid bin Hilal al Ma'awali, chairman of Majlis A'Shura and Yu Fulong, Ambassador of China to Oman.
