The delegation was received by prof Hadj Bourdoucen, dean of the college, accompanied by assistant deans and a number of faculty members.
The visit started with a meeting where a number of speakers from the college presented summary on the research activities at the college in addition to the Eco House Project that was funded by the The Research Council. This was followed by a discussion session on different aspects of cooperation on research, students’ training, community service and the ways on how the ministry can benefit from the equipment and human capacities at the college.
The two sides also discussed how the faculty from the college of Engineering would be involved in joint projects between SQU and the ministry as well as the development of cooperation in training programmes for students of the College of Engineering through their involvement in engineering projects that are carried out by the Ministry of Defence in different regions of the sultanate.
After the meeting, the delegation visited the solar car parking project and held discussions on the advantages of such a project in energy production and reduction in energy consumption.
After this, the delegation paid a visit to the College of Engineering Eco House Project where the benefits of the research project were presented to the delegation, mainly on how to use the traditional raw materials from the Omani environment.
