Majan College to get six-storey building

Majan College on Monday announced its expansion plan with the construction of a six-storeyed building in Darsait worth RO1.5mn. The cost only includes the structure.

“The building will come up on an area measuring 6,000sq m and will have specially equipped classrooms, laboratories, an auditorium with the capacity to accommodate 500 people and a cafetaria,” said Dr Maha Kobeil, dean of the college at a press meet. The building will be ready with four floors by next August.

She added, “Majan College is one of the oldest private educational institutions in the country and over the decades, it has produced some of the best students. This year we celebrate 20 years of the college.”

Sheikh Nasr Amer al Hosni, vice chairman of the Board of Directors, Majan College said, “The new state-of-the-art building will have a social gathering area where students will be able to interact with each other.”

He added, “We provide our students the best education and the market is always ready to accept them.” The college provides courses in business studies, information technology and English language. Established in 1995, the college has around 3,500 students both, in post-graduate and undergraduate courses.
