Muscat -

Al Ansab Wetlands are considered to be one of the natural sites located in the heart of Muscat. These wetlands offer a spectacular and amazing landscape and some of the most important elements of wildlife in the sultanate can be explored here.

The wetlands are a good destination for bird lovers. Haya Water receives many interested visitors from colleges/schools and expatriates who are passionate about nature.

Dr Abdullah al Harrasi, chairman of Public Authority for Radio and Television (PART), paid a special visit to the Al Ansab Wetlands. During the visit, he was exposed to the most important features of the wildlife in the wetlands. He has also walked across the wetlands and observed the types of Omani birds and trees in the area. Further, he watched a short film about the progress of the company and the services that Haya Water provides to the community.

He appreciated the efforts of Haya Water executive management and its employees for the achievements in the field of wastewater treatment and the expansion of Haya Water services to cover all of Oman, except Dhofar. This brings pride to everyone in Oman, especially since these projects are managed by Omanis. He said, “We are proud of the biological diversity that we have witnessed in Al Ansab Wetlands. We were very delighted to watch different types of birds that are unique to these wetlands. This is a clear indication of the great role that is played by the organisers of these wetlands to provide a safe environment for migratory birds.
