Taageer Finance appoints Ahmed Hamed al Subhi as independent director

Taageer Finance on Sunday announced that it has appointed Eng Ahmed Hamed al Subhi as independent director on temporary basis with effect from June 21, 2018.

Eng Subhi has worked as CEO of ACWA Power Barka and has also acted as chairman and as a member of board of directors of few listed companies in the Muscat Securities Market (MSM), Tageer Finance said.

In a circular to MSM, Tageer finance said that appointment of Eng Subhi has been done to fill a vacant seat of the board. He has also been appointed as a member of the executive, nomination and remuneration committee until the date of the next ordinary annual general meeting to be held in March, 2019.

The circular said the appointment of Eng Subhi is subject to the approval of Central Bank of Oman.

Subhi holds an MBA degree from the University of Strathclyde and has two post gradate diplomas in engineering and also have a honours degree in electrical power engineering. He is also widely recognised in the power generation and desalination industry, and banking and investment sector for his contributions.

He has been actively involved in developing and implementing of Mega Independent Power and Desalination Project in the region, the company said adding that he has also been involved in many transformations and restructuring of private companies based in his solid operational experience working with many multinational organisations.
