FDI in Oman reaches RO8bn: NCSI

Foreign direct investment (FDI) in Oman reached to RO8.01bn at the end of second quarter of 2017, recording a growth of RO619.4mn, according to the statistics released by the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI).

Oil and gas sector accounted for the bulk of FDI at the end of second quarter with RO3.859bn followed by the financial brokerage with RO1.51bn. FDI in the industry sector reached to RO1.03bn. The real estate activities recorded RO643.6mn in foreign direct investment and other activities accounted for RO972mn.

The UK, with an outstanding total investment of RO3.3bn, came on top of the list of countries investing in Oman in form of FDI, followed by the UAE with RO943.7mn and Qatar with RO457.5mn.
