BizOman Forum to start on May 7

Muscat - 

With a view to discuss the probable opportunities in the current challenging economic environment, business leaders from across Oman along with senior government officials from various ministries will meet during May 7-8 at the BizOman Forum.

Held under the theme of ‘Opportunity in Challenge’, the two-day BizOman Forum will take place at the InterContinental Muscat.

“BizOman Forum will address the challenges posed by the low oil prices and will address how these challenges can be converted into opportunities,” Musallam al Mandhari, CEO of Oman Society for Petroleum Services (OPAL), said at a press conference on Wednesday.

OPAL, Asyad - a government holding company for developing logistics sector, and Rahwah Enterprise - an event management company are jointly organising the two day forum, which is likely to be attended by all major business leaders, Mandhari said.

H E Talal al Rahbi, deputy secretary general of the Supreme Council for Planning, and Raoul Restucci, managing director of PDO will deliver the key note addresses at the forum.

On the agenda of the forum, Sabrah al Riyami, managing director of Rahwah Enterprise said, “This two-day forum will also provide an opportunity to hear from people with direct experience of making their business work despite the economic constraints, and discuss the opportunities and challenges facing the country’s business market. The forum aims to discuss the main challenges of the current economic environment and provide suggestions to overcome such challenges in order to achieve a sustainable economic growth.”

In addition to the plenary sessions and panel discussions with leading experts, Asyad and OPAL will facilitate specialised workshops to addresses issues related to their sectors as well as the opportunities therein, Mandhari said.
