Muscat – His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik received a written message from President Emmanuel Macron of the French Republic on Tuesday. The message deals with the historical relations and bilateral cooperation between the two countries.

The message was received by Sayyid Badr bin Hamad al Busaidi, Foreign Minister, when he met Nicolas Forissier, Minister Delegate for Foreign Trade and Attractiveness, attached to the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs.

During the meeting, the two sides reviewed the relations between the two countries, emphasising the mutual commitment to enhancing existing cooperation in various fields to serve mutual interests, particularly in economic and commercial areas. They focused on developing partnerships in the field of renewable energy, tourism projects and infrastructure, including the transport sector, in addition to deepening cultural and social exchange between the two peoples.

The meeting was attended by Sheikh Khalifa bin Ali al Harthy, Undersecretary for Political Affairs in the Foreign Ministry, Nabil Hajlaoui, Ambassador of France to Oman, and several officials from both sides.
