24 May 2026 Registration opens for summer programme for children in North Batinah

Suhar – The Directorate General of Education in North Batinah has announced the launch of registration for the second edition of the summer programme ‘Challenge Journey 2’, targeting students from grades 9 to 11 as part of efforts to strengthen leadership skills, national identity and youth development through interactive summer activities.

Organised under the supervision of the Ministry of Education, the programme aims to provide students with an enriching educational and recreational experience that combines adventure, outdoor learning and practical training in a safe environment. Around 1,000 students from schools across Oman are expected to participate, focusing on developing self-confidence, teamwork, communication and responsibility.

According to the programme description, the second edition is designed around several specialised learning categories aligned with Oman’s national development priorities. These include entrepreneurship, sustainable environment, safety and first aid, and mental health and positive thinking.

The entrepreneurship category introduces students to innovation, creative thinking and small project management, while the sustainable environment track focuses on environmental awareness, biodiversity protection and encouraging voluntary initiatives that support sustainability.

The programme also offers training in safety and first aid skills, aimed at preparing students to respond confidently in emergency situations and strengthening community leadership qualities. Another key component focuses on mental health and positive thinking by helping participants manage stress, build self-confidence and adopt balanced lifestyles.

The activities include field challenges, outdoor camps, practical workshops and interactive experiences that encourage creativity, leadership and social engagement.

Registration is open until May 25 through the Directorate General of Education in North Batinah.
