Muscat – The Indian Social Club (ISC) Oman hosted a farewell reception for H E GV Srinivas, Ambassador of India to Oman, for his contribution towards strengthening India–Oman relations during his tenure on Thursday.

Addressing the audience, H E Srinivas reflected on his memorable journey in Oman and thanked the Indian community for its warmth and support. In an emotional finale, he rendered the song Chalo Chalein Hum, leaving the audience deeply moved.

Speaking during the occasion, Suhail Khan, Chairman of ISC, praised the ambassador’s visionary leadership and impactful initiatives during his tenure. He highlighted the reforms introduced at the embassy, the successful coordination during the visit of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Oman and the signing of the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) between India and Oman. 

Khan commended the accessibility and dedication of H E Srinivas in building people-to-people connections within the Indian community.

The evening also witnessed the presentation of the design concept for the ISC building in Amerat by General Secretary Shakeel KM and project consultant Tufail Ahmed. The presentation offered guests an insight into the vision and future plans for the landmark initiative.
