4 Dec 2025 Markhor sculpture By OUR CORRESPONDENT

Pakistan – In a monumental display of national pride and a boost for local tourism, the world’s largest sculpture of the markhor, Pakistan’s national animal, has been unveiled in the scenic Kaghan Valley. The impressive artwork, which is already attracting significant visitor interest at its site in Bata Kundi, took a challenging five years to construct.

Towering over the landscape, the sculpture stands an enormous 105 feet high and stretches 38 feet wide, a formidable tribute to the majestic, spiral-horned wild goat. The creation by Eng Muhammad Shehzad aims to highlight the region’s natural splendour and promote conservation awareness for the markhor, which is native to the mountainous regions of Pakistan. Authorities anticipate that this immense new landmark will become a major tourist draw, putting a fresh spotlight on the ecological and cultural heritage of the area.
