Muscat – H E Sayyid Badr bin Hamad al Busaidi, Foreign Minister, today received a phone call from Hussein al Sheikh, Vice President of the State of Palestine and Vice Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO).
During the call, the two leaders discussed the tragic developments in the Palestinian arena, particularly the ongoing Israeli genocide against civilians in the Gaza Strip, and the starvation and blockade policy imposed on the territory.
The two sides emphasised the importance of concerted regional and international efforts to halt this brutal aggression, lift the siege, and deliver humanitarian aid without hindrance, while continuing to support diplomatic, political, and legal efforts aimed at relaunching serious negotiations leading to a just and comprehensive peace, in accordance with international principles and the principle of a two-state solution.
For his part, H E Sayyid Badr called for a stronger global appeal for humanity and an end to the atrocities and famine in Gaza, while affirming Oman’s steadfast approach based on dialogue, justice, respect for international law, and support for the Palestinian people’s right to establish their independent state with East Jerusalem as its capital.
