Muscat – The Governorate of Muscat, in cooperation with the Secretariat General of the Tender Board, will host the first Governorates’ Ambassadors Forum from May 20-22.
The event aims to strengthen the institutional integration and exchange expertise among various government entities.
The forum will bring together specialists and professionals in project management and administrative governance from the offices of the governors across Oman.
The forum seeks to establish effective communication channels between stakeholders, share best practices in contracts, tenders, and project management, and support balanced development. It also aims to enhance governmental coordination at the governorate level while showcasing key projects implemented in Muscat.
The agenda includes an official opening ceremony, followed by specialised sessions and workshops.
On the second day, participants will conduct a field visit to observe vital projects in Muscat, bridging theoretical knowledge with practical application.
The forum will conclude on its third day with the presentation of working papers by experts from Muscat governorate and the Secretariat General of the Tender Board.
This event serves as an opportunity to enhance the local capacities and refine operational tools within the governors’ offices, aligning with Oman’s decentralisation strategy to empower governorates with broader mandates. It also contributes to balanced and sustainable development across all regions.
It is worth mentioning that this is the first forum of its kind organised by the Tender Board in partnership with any governorate. It is set to be held periodically, rotating among different governorates, to standardise practices and improve institutional frameworks in contracts and tenders.
