Muscat – A team of Omani golfers is preparing for the 2025 Pan Arab Junior and Ladies Golf Championship taking place from May 7 to 10 in Cairo, Egypt.
The tournament will be held on two premier courses – Madinaty Golf Club and Katameya Dunes Golf Club – under the auspices of Arab Golf Federation in collaboration with Egyptian Golf Federation.
Oman will be among 13 nations vying for honours alongside regional powerhouses such as Saudi Arabia, the UAE and host Egypt. Other participating countries include Bahrain, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Palestine, Qatar and Tunisia.
The participation underscores the sultanate’s growing investment in golf and sports development. The national squad will compete in multiple age categories, showcasing a mix of experienced and emerging talent. Representing Oman in the ladies’ category are Huwaida al Barwani, Sheikha al Ghaithi and Wafa al Hadhrami.
The Girls U16 category will see Miraeri Sampat and Yasmin al Kathiri in action, while Pransh Jagwani will represent the country in the Boys U18 group. Yusuf al Rumhi and Taimur al Busaidi will compete in the Boys U13 category.
Adding to the excitement, this year’s championship coincides with a special golf festival at Madinaty Golf Club commemorating the 50th anniversary of Arab Golf Federation.
With golf steadily gaining traction among youth in Oman, the tournament presents a valuable platform for the nation’s young athletes to test their skills against the region’s best and gain international exposure.
