Muscat – The Anti-Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances Department, in cooperation with Coast Guard Police under  supervision of South Sharqiyah Police, thwarted an attempt to smuggle narcotics into Oman on Tuesday.

Authorities arrested two Asian nationals, as they attempted entering  the country illegally, and seized more than 50kg of marijuana, 3kg of hashish and 5,000 psychotropic tablets during the operation.

Royal Oman Police stated that legal procedures are being completed against the offenders.
