Muscat – The Sultanate of Oman and Brunei Darussalam signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) in Muscat on Monday to strengthen bilateral cooperation in the media sector.

The MoU outlines collaboration in the exchange of radio, television and news materials and programmes, as well as expertise sharing, training and reciprocal visits between media professionals from both countries.

The agreement was signed by H E Dr Abdullah bin Nasser al Harrasi, Minister of Information, and Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof, Minister in the Prime Minister’s Office and Second Minister of Defence, Brunei Darussalam.

During his visit, Dato Halbi toured the digital studio complex of Oman TV, where he was briefed on the advanced media and news services offered by Ministry of Information. He was introduced to the digital technologies and tools supporting the ministry’s efforts to meet evolving media requirements.

Praising Oman’s achievements in the media sector, Dato Halbi commended the sultanate’s progress in adopting modern technologies and delivering media content aligned with international standards. He expressed hope that the MoU would open new avenues for cooperation in media development, training initiatives and professional exchanges.
