Muscat – His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik received a phone call on Tuesday evening from US President Donald Trump, who conveyed his appreciation for the strong bilateral relations between the two countries and for Oman’s constructive role in facilitating ongoing negotiations between the United States and the Islamic Republic of Iran on Tehran’s nuclear programme.

The two leaders discussed developments related to the talks and exchanged views on ways to support the negotiation process to achieve the desired outcomes.

The call reflects Oman’s continued engagement in regional diplomacy and its efforts to promote dialogue and stability.

Iran has confirmed that Muscat will remain the venue for the second round of ‘indirect’ negotiations between Tehran and Washington.
