Muscat – Mahmoud bin Marhoon al Fori and Hisham bin Saleh al Farsi of the Royal Cavalry have qualified for the 2026 World Endurance Cup, to be held in Al Ula, Saudi Arabia, following a strong showing at the Saumur Endurance Race in France.
The qualification came through the 160km event sanctioned by the International Equestrian Federation (FEI), which drew 86 international riders. The course, divided into five demanding stages, tested riders’ stamina, strategy, and coordination with their horses.
Both riders met the FEI’s qualification standards, securing their places in one of the sport’s most prestigious competitions. Their performance positions Oman among the leading nations in endurance riding, underlining the Royal Cavalry’s continuous progress on the global stage.
In another achievement for Oman at the same event, Faisal bin Ibrahim al Farsi won first place in the 102km race. Spread across four stages, the competition highlighted his skill and consistency, further strengthening the Royal Cavalry’s international reputation.
The Royal Cavalry’s success reflects the effectiveness of its training programmes and its commitment to building a competitive presence in global endurance racing.
