Muscat – The Ministry of Higher Education, Scientific Research and Innovation has announced the opening of registration for Omani students to participate in the 66th London International Young Scientists Forum (LIYSF), which will be held in the United Kingdom from July 23 to August 6, 2025.
The annual event attracts aspiring young scientists from across the globe, offering a platform for cultural exchange, collaboration, and the development of scientific knowledge and skills. Participants will engage in lectures, workshops, and interactive sessions with leading international scientists and innovators.
Omani students currently pursuing university degrees in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics (STEM) fields are encouraged to apply via the Ministry’s dedicated platform: https://orp.trc.gov.om/awards/liysf/sub. The deadline for registration is May 6, 2025.
To be eligible, applicants must be between 19 and 23 years of age, demonstrate a strong interest in scientific fields, be actively involved in research or scientific competitions, and possess strong communication skills in English. Candidates must not have previously received support from the Ministry for any competition between 2022 and 2025.
Following the close of registration, applications will be reviewed by a specialised committee. Shortlisted candidates will be invited for a personal interview, after which the final selection of participants will be announced.
The Ministry emphasised that the forum presents a unique opportunity for young Omani researchers to gain international exposure, broaden their horizons, and represent the Sultanate of Oman on a global scientific stage.
