Muscat – H E Salem bin Mohammed al Mahrouqi, Minister of Heritage and Tourism, will deliver a statement before the Shura Council on Monday, March 24, during the eighth regular session of the second regular session of the Council’s tenth term.
The statement will focus on six critical themes relating to the development and management of Oman’s heritage and tourism sectors, in line with Oman Vision 2040.
The first theme will explore the Ministry’s plans and programmes, including their alignment with national priorities and the upcoming eleventh five-year plan. The second section will provide an analysis of tourism spending during the current five-year plan, assessing the sector’s growth and the impact of integrated tourism complex projects.
The third axis will address the management and preservation of Oman’s tangible cultural heritage, highlighting the sector’s contribution to the national economy and outlining the Ministry’s vision for future development. The fourth theme will focus on tourism sector management, discussing key projects aimed at boosting the sector’s economic impact.
In the fifth section, the Minister will discuss efforts to enhance Omanisation and develop a skilled national workforce in the heritage and tourism sectors. Finally, the sixth theme will cover the Ministry’s cooperation with the Oman Tourism Development Company (Omran) and the private sector, highlighting investment opportunities and strategies for maximising local content in the sector.
The session will be open to the public and attended by media representatives, ensuring wide community participation in the discussions.
