Chennai, India – Oscar-winning composer AR Rahman has been discharged from hospital after experiencing dehydration and neck pain, his son Ameen confirmed.

In a statement shared on Instagram, Ameen reassured fans that his father had undergone routine tests after feeling “a bit weak” but was now recovering well. “Your kind words and blessings mean a lot to us. We truly appreciate your concern and continued support,” he wrote.

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin also provided an update on Rahman’s condition, stating that he had contacted doctors and was informed that the musician was “fine and will be back home soon.”

Rahman, 58, had sought medical attention after feeling unwell following recent travels. His team dismissed false reports suggesting he had been hospitalised due to chest pain, clarifying that dehydration and travel-related strain were the causes.

The celebrated composer remains engaged in various music projects, including composing for Tere Ishk Mein, the spiritual sequel to Raanjhanaa. He recently joined Ed Sheeran on stage during the British singer’s Mathematics Tour concert in Chennai.
