Muscat – Foreign Minister H E Sayyid Badr al Busaidi today received Amir Khan Muttaqi, Acting Afghan Foreign Minister, who is on an official visit to the Sultanate of Oman.
The two ministers held discussions on the historical ties between their nations, underscoring shared cultural, civilisational, and human values. They expressed a mutual desire to enhance bilateral cooperation, particularly in trade, investment, and food security, alongside fostering knowledge exchange through education and training initiatives.
Sayyid Badr reaffirmed Oman’s support for Afghanistan’s integration into the international community, emphasising the importance of its constructive role in regional and global affairs. In response, Muttaqi praised Oman’s foreign policy, highlighting its commitment to respecting sovereignty, non-interference, and promoting peace and diplomacy.
The meeting was attended by Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Abdullah al Hinai, Ambassador-at-Large at the Foreign Ministry, and Omar Ghulam Rasouli, Chargé d’Affaires of the Embassy of Afghanistan in Oman, along with other officials from both sides.
