Muscat – The National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI) has launched a dedicated webpage to track key indicators related to Omani women, coinciding with International Women’s Day on March 8.
The page provides data across six main areas: demography, health, education, employment, social protection, and political participation.
Currently, it presents three key indicators under each category, with users able to track changes over time or select specific years for data comparison.
Susan bint Dawood al Lawati, Director General of Information at NCSI, said, “The page gives users the ability to download the data available in each category, enhancing the concept of open data and enabling those wishing to reuse this data.”
She added that the initiative aims to offer a comprehensive and accurate picture of women’s status in Oman. It is expected to support researchers, policymakers, and society by providing vital information that contributes to sustainable development and the social and economic empowerment.
