Muscat – As part of its commitment to promoting health awareness, particularly among patients with chronic diseases, Ministry of Health launched an awareness campaign titled ‘Me and My Medicine in Ramadan’ in Seeb.

The campaign aims to educate the public on the importance of managing medications during the holy month, ensuring that patients adhere to proper medical guidelines while fasting.

The launch was held under the patronage of Dr Mohammed bin Hamdan al Rubaie, Director-General of Pharmaceutical Affairs and Drug Control at Ministry of Health.

The campaign is focused on raising awareness on the regulation of medications for chronic diseases, with particular emphasis on managing blood pressure, diabetes, psychiatric medications and antibiotics during Ramadan. It provides guidance on overcoming potential health risks associated with fasting while on medication and offers practical solutions for maintaining well-being throughout the fasting period.

It was attended by officials from various medical and educational institutions, including Sultan Qaboos University Hospital, Diwan Health Centre, University of Technology and Applied Sciences, Oman College of Health Sciences, and National University of Science and Technology.
