Rustaq – South Batinah has announced plans for the City Walk project in Rustaq. The development, covering 28,000sqm, will be located near Rustaq Hospital and aims to create a modern, integrated urban space catering to residents and visitors.
Masoud bin Saeed al Hashemi, Governor of South Batinah, informed that the project is designed to enhance the quality of life, stimulate economic growth and embrace sustainability.
He emphasised the importance of human-centric urban development, where modern design principles focus on comfort, accessibility and an engaging social atmosphere. “The project seeks to bring life to the area, particularly in the evenings, by providing a vibrant mix of recreational and entertainment activities that will attract both locals and tourists.”
City Walk is expected to contribute to the local economy by generating job opportunities and enhancing Rustaq’s appeal as a key tourist destination. According to Hashemi, integration of entertainment, health and investment services within the development will further strengthen the wilayat’s economic landscape.
He underscored the project’s commitment to sustainability by incorporating green corridors, open spaces and pedestrian-friendly pathways to encourage a more eco-conscious urban environment. To reduce noise and visual pollution, the use of green spaces and trees will serve as natural barriers, ensuring a serene atmosphere for visitors.
Designed to become a major commercial and leisure hub, Rustaq’s City Walk will include 13 restaurants offering a range of culinary experiences, a dedicated fun zone for families and children, and a private medical clinic to serve the community. Additionally, the project will feature ten retail shops, separate gyms for men and women, a 35-room hotel, and a cinema to enhance the entertainment experience.
Strategically located at the heart of Rustaq, the project is expected to play a vital role in revitalising the local economy and enhancing commercial activity.
