New York, USA – American actress Michelle Trachtenberg, best known for her roles in Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Gossip Girl, has died at the age of 39.

New York police responded to an emergency call on Wednesday morning and found Trachtenberg unconscious. She was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities have stated that no foul play is suspected, with the medical examiner set to determine the cause of death.

Trachtenberg rose to fame as a child star in the 1990s, debuting in Harriet the Spy before gaining recognition as Dawn Summers in Buffy the Vampire Slayer. She later portrayed the scheming Georgina Sparks in Gossip Girl.

Tributes have poured in from former co-stars, including Blake Lively, David Boreanaz, and James Marsters, who described her as “fiercely intelligent and incredibly talented.”
