Muscat – Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth (MCSY) has announced the tenth season of the Clubs Competition for Cultural Creativity, a key programme aimed at fostering the intellectual and creative development of Omani youth.
Hilal bin Saif al Siyabi, Director of the competition and Director General of Youth Affairs, highlighted the significance of the programme, which focuses on nurturing cognitive and intellectual growth among young people.
He stated that the competition has long served as a platform for discovering and refining young talents, contributing to their personal development and the broader progress of society. “The goal is to encourage youth participation in a wide range of cultural, artistic and technical activities, thereby promoting community development,” Siyabi said.
It targets Omani youth aged ten to 29, divided into two categories: 10–16 years and 17–29 years. It covers various creative fields, including literature, with focus on classical and popular poetry; culture, with emphasis on debates; and visual arts, featuring fine arts and photography.
In the performing arts category, participants will compete in music and singing, while the technology and innovation segment includes fields such as entrepreneurship, innovation and electronic games. The sports category will feature a sports commentary contest.
The competition has several prestigious awards, including Best Youth Committee Award, which recognises contributions of youth committees within clubs and encourages greater community participation.
The competition awards aim to boost youth involvement, spotlight creative talents and underscore the importance of local youth committees in nurturing young, talented Omanis. A Media Competition has also been introduced this season, targeting volunteer media teams from across Oman, to further promote collaboration and creativity in the media sector.
