Muscat – Omani Lawyers Association has launched the 12th edition of its ‘Fak Kurbah’ initiative, aimed at raising funds to help release individuals who have become financially insolvent due to legal claims.

The campaign, which began on Tuesday, seeks to support around 1,300 individuals this year through community contributions and institutional partnerships.

Last year, the initiative successfully facilitated the release of 1,219 individuals. The effort is part of the association’s ongoing commitment to fostering humanitarian work within Omani society.

According to Dr Hamad bin Hamdan al Rubaie, Chairman of Omani Lawyers Association, the initiative has always focused on enhancing cooperation and solidarity in Omani society. “The spirit of unity has driven the success of past editions, helping numerous deserving individuals,” he said.

Dr Mohammed al Zadjali, General Supervisor of Fak Kurbah, informed that in the last 11 years, the initiative has helped release more than 7,110 individuals who met the necessary criteria.

In 2024, those released included 261 people from North Batinah, 202 from Muscat, 154 from Buraimi, 153 from Dhahirah, 128 from South Batinah, 98 from North Sharqiyah, 72 from Dakhliyah, 67 from South Sharqiyah, 62 from Dhofar, 16 from Al Wusta, and six from Musandam.
