Oman expands e-certification service to Saudi Arabia and Qatar

20 Feb 2025

Muscat – The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced the expansion of its electronic certification service to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the State of Qatar, effective from February 23, 2025. This initiative eliminates the need for individuals in these countries to visit Omani diplomatic missions for certification services, streamlining procedures and enhancing accessibility.

The electronic certification service was initially launched on January 23, 2025 and currently covers the United Arab Emirates, the Kingdom of Bahrain, the State of Kuwait, the Republic of India, and the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka. The service is set to be rolled out in additional countries as part of the Ministry’s phased implementation plan, in collaboration with Oman Post.

This initiative aligns with Oman Vision 2040 and the country’s digital transformation agenda, aiming to provide efficient and seamless consular services to citizens and residents abroad.
