Muscat – Muscat Municipality has completed the ‘Green Park and Walkway’ project in South Mabelah, Seeb, offering residents a new recreational space designed to promote health and well-being.
Spanning 3.4sqkm, the park will serve a large section of the local community, so expect the authorities.
Eng Musa bin Salem al Saqri, Assistant Director General for Technical Affairs at the Directorate General of Muscat Municipality in Seeb, said the project provides “a natural space for physical and recreational activities, enhancing the quality of life and offering a gathering place for families”.
One of the largest parks in Seeb, it stretches from Al Noor Street in the east to the old car market in the west. The park includes a 3,400m sports walkway, a cycling track, pedestrian overpasses, children’s play areas, fitness equipment, multi-use sports fields, and a skateboard zone. It also features seating areas, restaurants, cafés, and designated spaces for mobile food trucks.
Designed with sustainability in mind, the park’s green spaces add to its aesthetic appeal while providing a relaxing environment. Well-lit pathways ensure safety for visitors during evening hours.
The project is part of the municipality’s broader vision to develop urban spaces that support healthy lifestyles and modern city living.
