Bengaluru, India – Ed Sheeran’s impromptu performance on Church Street during his visit to Bengaluru was abruptly interrupted by local police, leaving fans disappointed. The British singer, who is currently in India for his Mathematics Tour, was spotted walking through the bustling street when he spontaneously began playing his guitar and singing ‘Shape of You’ for a crowd of onlookers.
The casual street performance, which quickly gained attention, was cut short when a police officer appeared and ended the gig, much to the dismay of the gathered fans. Videos of the incident quickly went viral, showing Sheeran in a t-shirt and shorts, playing for the crowd before the officer intervened.
While some social media users have joked about the interruption, others have pointed out that public performances typically require permission, regardless of the performer’s fame.
Sheeran’s impromptu performance was part of his ongoing Mathematics Tour, which follows concerts in Chennai and Bengaluru. His next stop will be in Shillong on February 12, before concluding the India leg of his tour in Delhi NCR on February 15.
Despite the untimely end to his street performance, Sheeran’s fans are eagerly anticipating his upcoming shows.
