Muscat – The Ironman 70.3 Oman Muscat triathlon is set to take place on February 7 and 8 with more than 1,100 participants from Oman and abroad. The event will begin with an opening ceremony on the evening of February 6 at Shatti al Qurum from where the race will be flagged off.

The weekend promises to be action-packed, featuring not only the main race but also the Ironw-oman and Ironkids races on Febr-uary 7. These events aim to foster greater community engagement and encourage participation among women and children.

Mohamed Obaidani, CEO and Founder of Triathlon Middle East, expressed his excitement about the event, calling it a milestone for Oman’s sporting calendar. “This event has been a long time in the making, and we are finally set to host what promises to be a magnificent Ironman 70.3 Oman Muscat. I encourage sports fans and families in Muscat to visit the Ironman Race Village and Expo this weekend to witness the action. I wish all athletes the very best for their race day performance,” he said.

Obaidani also emphasised the significance of the triathlon in showcasing Oman’s potential as a hub for international sporting events. “This globally recognised triathlon further enhances the country’s reputation as a premier destination for regional and international sporting events, as well as outdoor and adventure tourism. It also showcases the rich cultural beauty and modern infrastructure of Muscat. To all athletes coming to Oman for the first time, I welcome you to our beautiful capital city,” he added.
